The nationwide death toll from Typhoon Tino has climbed to more than 140, with 127 people still missing across the Visayas and Mindanao.
The NDRRMC earlier reported 114 deaths, not yet including the additional 28 recorded in Cebu, bringing the province’s total fatalities to 71. Cebu was heavily devastated by severe flash floods following the typhoon’s second landfall.
Included in the nationwide tally are the six Air Force crew members who died when their rescue helicopter crashed during relief operations.
Casualties have also been reported in Negros Occidental, Negros Oriental, Agusan del Sur, Southern Leyte, Antique, Bohol, Capiz, Iloilo and Leyte.
